Mindfulness Everyday
Mindfulness in Education

Cultivating a Culture of Well-being in Schools

Our approach is to provide comprehensive evidence-based, trauma-sensitive mindfulness training that is social and emotional learning informed to the adults - educators and parents - in our students' lives so they can embody the qualities that we would like to see in our students.

Whole School Approach

A whole school approach towards health and wellbeing begins with teaching mindfulness across all years of schooling, and involving parents, educators, administrators, support staff, and the community; all parts of a school and its community working together in the practice of mindfulness:

"Mindfulness can contribute to the development of connected and reflective school and classroom climates where staff and students experience and cultivate values such as kindness, compassion, respect, open-mindedness, tolerance, and mutual caring and responsibility." ~Implementing Mindfulness in Schools: An Evidence-Based Guide by The Mindfulness Initiative (https://www.themindfulnessinitiative.org/implementing-mindfulness-in-schools-an-evidence-based-guide)

A whole-school as a model approach recognizes working holistically to promote practices that will benefit individuals to increase student engagement for well-being and success.  Mindfulness Everyday has been delivering our trauma-sensitive, social and emotional learning informed programs to students, educators and parents since 2002.

Supporting a Whole School

Our Professional Development Training for Educators includes teachers, educational assistants, child and youth workers, social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, audiologists and speech-language pathologists, physiotherapists, student support staff as well as administrators and office staff.

We provide programs for teens delivered as part of the school curriculum.

We work with School Administrators and School Councils for sustainable program implementation.

We work with Parents, Guardians and Care-givers so they can support mindfulness initiatives in schools and at home with families.

The Benefits of Mindfulness Education

Consistent and ongoing practices in mindfulness provide positive mental health and wellness benefits that teach and improve stress management, self-care, resilience, concentration, executive functioning, and  positive habits of mind.
