What Teens & Parents Have to Say About iBme Teen Retreats

"I learned about having hope instead of worry." - Mei, age 16 (teen)

"After a couple of days my whole outlook on life was changed. It was an awesome experience. I would encourage any teen to come here”. – Josh, age 15 (teen)

“The counselors were wonderful and I couldn't be more pleased with their positive impact on my daughter.  Their ability to connect with teens, to actively listen, wisely impart knowledge, infuse joy, compassionately hold their confusion -- it is all a blessing of the greatest proportion.  Thank you.” (parent)

"It's hard to imagine a more healing and enriching experience than what iBme offers to teens during their residential retreats. The combo of meditation, group sharing, outdoor fun- all in a safe, loving container- is the recipe for transformational magic." - Tara Brach, PhD and Founder of the Insight Meditation Community of Washington

Mindfulness & the Teen Brain

Dan Siegel’s mindfulness talk:
The Power and the Purpose of the Teenage Brain

In October, 2013, iBme was honored to host with Middlesex School a talk by Dr. Dan Siegel on his newest book, “Brainstorm: the Power and Purpose of the Teenage Brain.” Brainstorm is written for both parents and teens and provides an easy to digest overview of the brain developments occurring in adolescence.  It describes the science behind why mindfulness  is such a powerful practice for adolescents.  If you are a parent of a teen or work with teenagers, this video is well worth taking the time to view.
